| An interdisciplinary choreographic investigation into Australia’s tropical northern environment Garden of the Gods involved photography and videography. Visiting environment's rich in traces of abandoned values. Located in the reef, the rainforest and the savanna. Resources capture moments of the body working with choreographic fusion. Translating the element of one discipline into another, focussing on the artists knowledge, his/her relationship to the landscape and actual viewed object. Assisted by the Emerging Choreographers Initiative Fund of the Australia Council 1998. choreographer:Rebecca Youdell, videographer:Leah Grycewicz and photographer:Glen O’Malley. Sites visited include: Croydon, 600km West of Cairns; Dunk Island,Southeast of Cairns; Magnetic Island, Townsville; Paronella Park, Southwest of Cairns; and WWII oil Tank, Cairns. |
