It's important to understand the difference between protecting and restoring endangered species habitat.  Some species recover thanks to effective protection--the destruction of their habitat is halted or practices that harm the species are banned.  But for the vast majority of endangered wildlife, the damage has been done.  Their habitat is shrinking or has been degraded to dangerous levels.  The recovery of the wildlife relying on these habitats hinges on thorough and effective restoration.

This has to happen not in the wilderness or on public lands but on privately owned farms and family acreage because these are the places the majority of imperiled wildlife lives.  If we are to make a real difference, we have to enlist the support of regular people who share their land with these animals and plants.

Future Perfect asks us to consider ‘what if?’ and reflect on humanities legacy in this world. Is the next generation becoming familiar with the idea of running out? Future Perfect slips between and explores the cracks within our culture.

Russell Milledge and Rebecca Youdell artistic co-directors of the Bonemap intermedia art collective present the evocative production of Future Perfect in collaboration with sound artist Nick Mills and performers Jess Jones, Danielle Baccala, Maya Poole, Mark Edwards, Ivan Thorley and installation assistant Dom Johns.

Bonemap’s highly acclaimed team of artists challenge conventional forms of expression and create a hybrid mesh of live art, installation, dance and new media framed by an overarching ecological framework.

Future Perfect is contemporary performance & visual installations blurring the definitions of media and performance.
